And how should i set it up, i'm going to order it but this will be my first lcd screen and i don't no how to set it up

Alot of ppl on the net i have found say its easier to set up a serial lcd in WinXP than it is to set up a parallel lcd but i want to convert it to a serial lcd cause i like that color of the CFAH1602B-TMC-JP

Yes, I have a pretty good understanding of electronics and the link you gave i could do all of that very easily

Also i was thinking of taking those two wires and going behind the mobo to the com1 port and hook it up like that would that be a good way

another thing is will motherboard monitor be the best program to use for the lcd screen or is there something better out there
