Yellow Character really??

I brought a what seemed to be a yellow character display and it's my first one but is this how all yellow character's look like? disappointed because in the picture it showed like this.


and I turned the display on and it looks like this..

That does look like a green backlight to me.

Sometimes the color will shift with the current being driven through the backlight. It looks like you might have it hooked to a PC's 5v power supply. Did you calculate a current limiting resistor?

But however I took the polarizing film off and rotated it 90 degrees and it looked just like the photo from the seller.

Yeah so I have to buy a sheet and cut it one question text will still show if the background is as dark as possible or do I have to rotate it to allow just a tiny bit of backlight?

You want to display something on the LCD, then adjust the polarizer. There is trade-offs between letters and background and backlight brightness and viewing angles and contrast setting . . . you want to set as many of those as you can before the angle is tweaked.
