Wrong Characters

Hi!

I got a serious problem! On my display, some characters are displayed proberly, while some are replaced by others. Likewise, if try to display "Testing 1,2,3" the display shows "Paqping 1(0(1". Any idea what could couse this behavior?

What is the model number of your display?

Hmmm...its a LM016L, and it say 97-44147-9 somewhere else

Thanks for the model number. Since this is not a Crystalfontz display, we can only offer very limited support.

My first guess it that there is a problem with the data lines (D0-D7) on the display. Some of them are probably open, shorted or crossed.

Please check them carefully. If you have a 'scope, you can set your software to toggle each line in turn and make sure the lines are changing at the LCD correctly.
