I'm planning on getting my first LCD display to serve as a small project to toy around with. I like the 634 series, and i'm getting one with a backlight. Someone told me that the voltage to run the unit is aquired from the serial jack. The power connector is only for the backlight. If I order the LCD, cable, serial backplate, and power connector from http://www.crystalfontz.com/products/select_kit.html , do you guys solder that power connector onto the LCD or is that something that I would have to do myself? I'm horrible with a soldering iron.

As long as you order the backlight power cable at the same time as the (632 or 634) module we will solder it on for you.

We will also solder on the WRPWRY14 or WRDOWY17 connectors to a 633 if they are ordered at the same time.
