Portable DVD LCD

I have two LCD's that I snagged out of Portable DVD players. I want to modify them to be external monitors or even throw them into my case. However, I am not as electronic savy as a lot of people out there. I am a PC Tech, not an electrician. So, how exactly should I go about doing this?

No one even has a suggestion of where to start?
The LCD and Inverter (at least what I think is an inverter) is labeled with the ground and pin outs.

Without knowing who makes them and knowing the detail spec's of the LCD's its almost impossible to tell you what way to go.
