Need help with setting up the MBM temp screens.
Changed the id's to my value id's and no go.
Even set all your temp id's to my CPU temp value id and no go.
Screens come up in my 631 and 634 but no temps.
I think I need a mbm screen setup for Dummys.
Took a screen shot of my mbm ini file and attached it.

thanks

From the JC_mbm_Temps.2002 (631 Screen file)... did you change in this section (for example)

[r00-i02]
length=2
id=2508810313

the: id=2508810313

to id=1085864257
(from your posted MBM.ini file)?
Your description sounds like you did but I just wanted to make sure...

Have you copied the created data_mbm.ini from the mbm_ini_creator.exe program to your C:\Program Files\CrystalControl2\cc2-service directory and renamed it to cc2_mbm.ini?

Do you see any lines like this in your cc2_mbm.log file;

Thu 13 23:01:25 NOTICE ini_read_dword: value found: sensor64->name_id = 2465774537

Or do you see something like this in the cc2_mbm.ini file;

Thu 13 23:01:21 NOTICE log_start: Logging started
Thu 13 23:01:21 NOTICE timer_calibrate: timer ticks/sec: 2870131632.6311
Thu 13 23:01:22 CRITICAL ini_read: Could not open config file "C:\Program Files\CrystalControl2\cc2-service\cc2_mbm.ini"

These things are addicting eh? How many times did you think about it at work?

MBM

Howdy....
Yep, changed the id to 108810313.
Changed my "data_mbm" file to "cc2_mbm.ini" and put
it in the service directory.
Haven't checked the log files. Going to hit the hay. I'll
go back & check everything again to make sure and
look at log files.
I'll be back tonite.

Thanks

Ok...got to do this or else I'll stay awake.
At the bottom of my cc2_mbm.ini file it says...

[sensor64]
comment=cpu 1-cpu
name_ id=3246315547
value_ id=2077777637
min_ id=3018738166
max_ id=2188301124

I'm running my P4 3.06 Hyperthreaded....does that make
a differance?
Also, my log file shows the "Could not open config file
"C:\Program Files \CrystalControl2\cc2-service\cc2_mbm.ini"

DUH>..............Thats the default directory......I changed it
to " D:\blah blah...when I set up CC2.
I just have WindowsXP on my C drive and all my programs
on my D:\....
Shi_sky...... I guess I'll re-install cc2 in the default directory
and start over when I get up.
I'll check back in before I do.

Thanks

I'm Back

OK, did the cc2 & MBM uninstall and re-installed cc2 to my C"\ drive.
Put speed fans back in but not MBM. The reason I didn't use
speed fans was that it would peg my CPU usage to 100%
and I had to use task mgr to stop it. I start it again and all would be ok. It's still doing that. I like speed fans but thats a pain.
I'll hang with it for awhile because in a way, I like speed fans better but I also liked the control you had with MBM and the old
cc1.
Oh Well

Thanks for your trouble again.

What version of speedfan do you have? The current version is 4.19. There is also a 4.20 BETA, which you can download if you register with Speedfan.

Don't quote me on this (I may be thinking of a different program), but it seems that I remember something about the 100% being addressed, either on 4.19 or the BETA.

Anyway, check it out.

This is how my setup works, OS bootup, Speedfan automatically loads, all four fans (3 internal and one external 120mm) automatically drop to 5% rising to 15% as may be necessary. Their is a fail-safe for when the temps rise too much, in this case Speedfan will rise to 100%. If I decide to enter a game then I will manually set it to 100% to obviate the extra heat generation.

How did I achieve this setup. Made a shortcut icon for Speedfan in the Startup section, then proceeded as follows for the automatic percentage fan levels.

5 Steps To (Automatic Fan Control) Heaven

(1) Open speedfan whilst it is running.
(2) Hit the configure button.
(3) Hit the speeds tab, change it to 5% min to 15% max provided you know this will adequately cool your computer.
(4) Place a tick in 'automatically variated' and repeat this tick plus the min/max values for every speed showing on this tab.
(5) Hit ok button. At the main screen place a tick in 'automatic fan speed', reboot n smoke yer fave cheroot!!!

Make sure speedfan is loaded in the Windows startup folder. Now this gives you automatic 15%, you want to deviate it then you now know how. Keep an eye on the temps n don`t burn that mother out! If you`re gonna play games, then temporarily take the tick out of auto and turn all fans to 100% by keying the value in to each box (the tab key and an identical value are quick n easy). Return the tick in auto when you return, it will bring them back to 15% power itself.

hello, I've been reading through this thread and it was very helpful. I've got MBM5 working now on my 634 USB. However, I cannot get my GPU temperature display.

In order to get it working in mbm5 it has to work off sensor 25 for me.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to obtain the value_id for sensor 25?

Thanks
