Hey anonymous_putterer,
I reinstalled my System as well because of new Hardware and Ubuntu Release.

Tested out your new Patch, but still had to modify my Environment.

In configure.ac I changed the Line:
AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE([subdir-objects])

Otherwise the Patch failed because of files in Subdirectorys. And I still had to set the -fno-stack-protector CFLAG.

Anyway, it's still working fine with these modifications. Thank you for your effort.

Tested on debian stretch and jessie and Ubuntu 16.04.

I was able to build this 11 years ago, But not any more. Is there any way I can get a current (working) source tree.

Has anyone managed to build this in the last 5yrs? If not What client gives the most functionalty? Speedcontrol screens...

Hi, we're not aware of any recent builds of this. The resource we normally send people to are LCDproc and LCD Smartie. I'm not aware of any other resources thar are more specialized.
