lcd with non-magnetic parts

Hi, I am building a magnetometer, the black steel part that holds the lcd together significantly alters the earths magnetic field reducing accuracy.

Are there any parts with only aluminum, copper, brass or plastic?

From what I understand, the CFAX series of graphic displays are basically glass and plastic. If there is any ferrous material in them, I can't imagine it would be much, although one of the CF guys would have a much better idea than me.

I agree. The CFAX series should have zero ferrous in it. If there is any it could be only a microscopic amount, as Heffo says.

Thanks, I will try the CFAX lcd out. It is too bad I can't use character LCD's for this.
