I am building a mini-itx system for my truck, and want to use a CFAH4002A-YYB-JP (40x2) controlled by the CrystalControl software. How would I go about connecting this LCD to my computer [least expensive ]

There is no easy way to connect a HD44780 LCD to a PC.

If you are connecting an LCD to a PC, you will save a lot of trouble if you use a serial or USB model.

Here is a suggestion for cabling a serial in a car:

USB already has power & data on one cable, so that would probably work well too.
