How to connect a Parellel?

Hi...

i looked a bit on the Parellel LCD's... how to connect them. If you look at the beyond of the Seriels the is a Seriel cable connector. But if you look at the back of a Parellel LCD there isnt a thing to stick a cable in...

i can the 2 cables in the left... i expect that you have to connect those with some other cables. But it requires 4,5v or something... what supply in a PC does give that voltage!??

The CFAH* series (which are "HD44780" compatible) LCDs (also commonly referred to as "parallel" or "character" LCDs) are not intended to be connected to a PC's parallel port as an end product. They are intended to be designed into a product. For connection to a PC, please consider our serial LCDs.

The schematic used is determined by the software, not the display. The most common schematic is shown below. Please determine which software you are going to use, then see what schematic it recommends.

We do not recommend using a potentiometer alone for the backlight. It is too easy to ruin the backlight by turning the pot too far. You should calculate the limiting resistor as described in this post to limit the maximum current (and set the maximum brightness) and then put that in series with a pot if you want to dim the backlight.

hmmm.... it doest seem so complecated ;D

why dont your Seriel displays are avaible in all kinds of colours example BLUE!...

i want a Blue one so i think i am going to through myself into the project
