Help my lcd

I have a parrelll lcd witht eh white letters and blue back ground and i got it all wired up and the light comes on but every program I use doesnt work do you think it is broken or is there a certain order of programs i have to use?

If youve tried CrystalControl and it doesnt work then your probably wired it up wrong.

Do you get a row of blocks when you give it power?
If you dont, then either your power supply or contrast setting is not right.

If thats ok, but the software wont work, then youve probably mss-matched the wires from the PC to the LCD somewhere.
