Graphic LCD for 1U audio rack mount.

Hello,
I can't believe how difficult finding a suitable LCD for a standard pro audio 1U rack mount unit is.

Basically the unit is limited by its height which is a standard 44mm. Therefore the LCD, or the LCD module must be a few mm smaller to fit in the case say, 38mm max. The viewing area ideally would be 30mm+ and the viewing area in length 60-70mm. Doesn't need to be anything fancy, just mono (cheep) with a resolution of something like 64*128.

All the LCD's and modules I see either are to big (i.e. >38mm high) or have a tiny viewing area of around 15mm.

Any ideas?

The CFAX12864AP1 would fit, but you'd have to find some way to mount it to the panel, as it is essentially "bare glass" with no frame (unless you got the -TFH, which has a plastic frame). As for the tiny viewing height, well, too bad.

The CFAX12864CP1 would almost fit, with the same mounting issues.

Have you seen and rejected those two?

Cosmicvoid, thank you for the suggestions. It has been a bit fustrating lookin for this LCD. On the samples you recommend.

CFAX12864CP1
56.0mm x 42.5mm Module Outline (less tab)

As you point out this is too big. The 1U 44.45 mm is an industry standard, so no way around it.

CFAX12864AP1

29.58mm x 17.98mm Viewing Area

Which means this is too small , Im looking for a viewing area of more than >30mm x >60mm

Optrex: http://www.optrex.com/products/partdetail.asp?PartNumber=F-51933GNF-SLW-ACN[/QUOTE]

Outer Dimension: 41.2mm (W) x 37.37mm (H) x 2.7mm (D)

Again too small , this is just the outer dimension, and Im looking for viewing area in length >60mm, plus with a height at 37mm its getting close to max and Im not sure this even make allowance for the ribbon.

There is a whole industry that uses this size you would think someone had an LCD to fit.

You will have trouble finding a module with a viewing height of 30mm and an overall height of 38mm. They seem to need more margin space for the flex tail and the cog.

Here are some places to look:

Not all modules have square pixels, so the aspect ratio will change a little.

cosmicvoid,
Many thanks for the links, I passed them on to our purchasing along with the spec, as the purchasing is part of the factory in China and they are away for Chinese new year it may be a while before I can hear back. But I very much appreciate your time to answer my post.
