Generating LCD Display from stored file

I was wondering if there was any easy way, either by using CrystalControl or something else to read the contents of a file every x seconds and use that to generate the LCD output.

I have an application that can't write directly to the COM ports at all, but can generate a simple text or other file, and edit it continuously.

Can a CC screen read from a file?

CC cant read from files unfortunatley... one of the more basic things i didnt make it support
