Dead CFAH1602-YMC

I have an LCD that I ordered about 6 months ago and just now pulled it out to use and it's not completely dead, but only about 5 character spots will light up. Has anyone else seen this? I contacted CF about a possible swap and they refused.

The CFAH-displays aren't covered by warranty if you connect them to a computer...
