Where does CC pick up the "CPU load" information
from within windows ? What type file is queried ?

What is the tag for cpu load? I've been unable to find it. Someone said there's a tag under Performance Info - Processor, but I don't have a "processor" section.

CrystalControl only lists the avaliable permon information.
Its up to Windows whats avaliable.
If its not there, sorry i cant help :(
