CFAX12864AP1-TFH Backlight Activation

How does one turn on the white LED backlight for the AX12864AP1-TFH product?

I've skimmed the documentation and the spec sheet but I don't see any separate tabs or instructions specified.

There are two tabs on the back side of the plastic frame, for the LED backlight.

I think I see them on the back close-up photo marked (+ & -).
