CFA-635 SCAB Led connections

Hi

We have the CFA-635b USB LCD and the SCAB board to go with it. We need to know if it is possible to connect 5mm 5V LED's to the scab board so they can give us Fan failure and Temp overheat indicators (eg. Flashing or solid LED's)

Is this possible and if so does anyone know the best way to go about it?

The SCAB cannot drive the LEDs directly. There are LEDs on the CFA-635, and they can be made external, but there would have to be software in the loop to read the temperatures or speeds and set the LEDs.
