Try:
Start CC, and without going into any settings, find out how much RAM its using in the task-manager.
Go into regedit, remove CC's registry entries (the whole key/folder) at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CrystalControl
Run CC, Add a "Simulated LCD" module, and to that, add one screen of just text, no data.
See if it has the same problems.
