Backlight expected working life.

Hi. I have a 632 intelligent serial module, I think is 1.0 (it includes japanese katakana characters in the CGROM), I bought it around 2001.

The perl script I use to update the display keep the backlight turned on around 8 hours a day. I have changed the location of my server to a darker room, and now I will keep the backlight turned on fulltime.

My question is: what is the expected working life of the backlight lamp?

I'll try to answer myself...

Hi. After reading the spec PDF I downloaded then, it seems the backlight is not done with a lamp but with a LED. I guess that gives me more than 10 years of light. Am I right?

The yellow-green LED backlights (such as used in the CFA-632) are rated at 50000 to 100000 hours (roughly 5 to 10 years).

I have never seen one fail or dim, they practically last forever.
