635 communication

hi all!
I'm using a 635 lcd with the code from Crystalfontz example(linux). I would like to know how to communicate with the device.with the example program I can write the screen only inside the code, and I want write to the LCD while the program is running.

Technically the code itself shows how to communicate with the LCD, and you would build your application around the 'skeleton' that's provided there, using the datasheet as your guide.

That said, there are applications (LCDProc, etc) which support the CFA-635 as well. Is there some specific function you require which is not already met by existing software?
