I'm interested in buying a 634 usb, 2 questions :
1) do i only need to plug it into a usb port ? (no need for cable for power ?)
2)what com port does it map it to? I have a piece of software that allows only com1 to com4 (i've seen virtual com ports to be at com5, com6, etc...) does it allow you to choose the port to be mapped to?

Thank's in advance

The USB 634's get all the power that they need from the USB port, so there is no need for any other cables or power supplies.

If you're using Windows 2k or XP, if the 634 is assigned to a com port higher than com 4, you can re-assign it through the device manager.
