4 bit or 8 bit

Are there any limitations from using an LCD in 4 bit mode as opposed to 8 bit?

Is the speed/options/reaction time the same or different?

The bandwidth between the CPU and the display is cut roughly in half (each write takes two cycles instead of one).

However, that bandwidth is usually not the limiting factor. Generally you are up against the response time of the LCD.

All features ara available in both 4-bit and 8-bit mode.
