    Question creating the crc

    I am trying to figure out the 16 bit crc using perl.

    Does anyone have an idea where to start?

    I think I already emailed you the code you needed. If not, please reply and I'll get it to you.

    I don't have a working example for Java, but if I were to go about it, I'd just port the C code to Java, which ideally wouldn't be much of a problem at all, since the syntax is so similar.

    java crc

    i did that and have different CRCs. here is the source...
    Code:
    public class CRC16 extends Object
      {
      public static void main(String[] args)
        {
        byte[] data = new byte[2];
        data[0] = 0x01;
        data[1] = 0x00;
        System.out.println(get_crc(data ));
        System.out.println(Integer.toHexString(get_crc(data)));
        }
      public static int get_crc(byte[] data)
        {
        //CRC lookup table to avoid bit-shifting loops.
        int[] crcLookupTable =

    i was messing with the command byte, data[0].

    if you use a ping as an example...

    data[0] = 0x00;
    data[1] = 0x00;

    returns .. 0xF0B8

    where the packet debugger in the win example prog gets...

    C=0( 0 = Ping),L=0,D="",CRC=0x0F47

    any help would be apprcaited.

    Sounds like you are pretty close:

    0xF0B8 == ~(0x0F47)

    So you just need to do a bit-wise invert, so

    return newCrc;

    should be

    return(~newCrc);

    spoke too soon

    the get hw fw version info command does not return the correct CRC for me

    byte[] data = new byte[2];
    data[0] = 0x01;
    data[1] = 0x00;

    returns 0x1ece

    please tell me its another no brainer.

    thanks again

    Do you have an api for c?

    What is the use of SimLCD, as I understand it is a simulator of LCD that runs as it without any device and any cables, if yes,
    I cant not find the "COM1" mnemonic in available resources

    There are C examples in the WinTest source, and the "ultra-simple" example program:

    OHHH IIIII..... i,m still ailve....

    whatdoyaneed?

    i do have a java stack. yes, you don't "need" the device plugged in, build a serial loopback. you do need to install the comm api or an equivielant (serial device support for java).

    no i don't have a C api.
