Alesis QS6

I have an Alesis QS6 synthesizer and when I power it up, the LCD screen lights up but there is no display and no sound what so ever. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what would go bad to cause this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since you are getting no sound out, it's much more than just the LCD. The backlight is probably a simple circuit not driven by the controller board.
