Hello Crystalfontz Community!

I recently purchased a Crystalfontz LCD Kit (CFA635 Black Aluminum, White LCD, Internal/External Kit),
and was wondering where I can find step by step instructions on installing it. I searched on the forums unsuccessfully, and would greatly appreciate any help or advice.

What I'm looking for mostly, is what to do (what to download) after I have connected the crystalfontz display via USB. Someone please show me the necessary and optional DL's to get my rig up and running.

Thanks for the help.

You will need 2 bits of sotware:

USB drivers: http://www.crystalfontz.com/product/USB_LCD_Driver. Pick the one you need.
CrystalControl2: http://www.crystalfontz.com/product/CrystalControl2. This software provides the interface to add screens and related.

From there, the possibilities are endless (to a degree). You can peruse the Screen Library (https://forum.crystalfontz.com/forumdisplay.php?f=26) for examples, which may lead to more questions.

Regarding the drivers, unzip them somewhere, open Device Manager, and install the drivers from there.

From my previous post: "Regarding the drivers, unzip them somewhere, open Device Manager, and install the drivers from there."

The CF display will be shown as an "unknown device" in Device Manager. Open that item and click on "update driver", browse to the folder the drivers are in, click OK and the USB driver will be installed. Windows should pop up shortly after that asking to install drivers for the virtual com port. These drivers are in the same folder. Install them and you should be done installing the drivers.

BTW, this will be required for Windows XP. Vista *may* download/install via Windows Update. Windows 7 *will* download/install via Windows Update.

I just installed the Win 7 RTM yesterday. Windows 7 Update found and installed the drivers just fine.

So, after doing all that and installing the drivers. I restarted the computer, received the BSoD, and wasn't able to boot 3 times until i selected "Last know good configuration." But now at least it says that the device is installed and properly working. idk...

Anyways, so now i need to figure out how to configure the display using CC2.
