Don't know how to do the command line switch or stop
smart in speedfan.I know MBM is discontinued but at least it works.
I'm running a 6800GT so it could be the video temp.
Thanks

Doubtful, but as a bodger extroadinaire take off the case temporarily and let a room fan play on the vid card temporarily. See if it still happens, if not then this one comes off the list-this at least gives you some peace of mind.
Command Line Switch:
Locate your shortcut to Speedfan.exe in the startup folder. Right click on it and choose properties. Where it shows the load path, an example follows
"C:\Program Files\SpeedFan\speedfan.exe"
then change it to read
"C:\Program Files\SpeedFan\speedfan.exe /NONVIDIAI2C"
this is what is termed 'adding a switch'. The program loads normally but throws a switch in to a predetermined deviation from the normal load to affect the video card settings. This is only necessary on certain motherboards, not all.
EDIT: This switch can also be achieved from the 'run' command, via the start button but is more of a temporary nature than amending the shortcut properties.
