I noticed some other people have had problems with the boot setup program. I too have not been able to get it to work quite right. It never seems to save the settings, but it does do 'something'. After I tried to preset a contrast and backlight setting, I found that I could no longer change thoseb settings with my Basic Atom program. After some trial and error with the boot setup program, I was once again able to control the settings with the Basic Atom. However, now the LCD defaults to a high contrast when powered up. Not a big deal since I can change it immediately after boot-up, just something quirky going on with the boot setup program.
