I am trying to interface the I2C-ready CFA533-TMI-KC with an Arduino for some prototyping purposes, but am running into difficulties. As a "Hello, world!" test I have been trying to send the LCD command 14 (Set LCD & Keypad Backlight) with a value of 0 to turn off the backlight, since this would clearly indicate that I am communicating with it; however, nothing seems to be happening.
I have checked the waveforms of the I2C transactions between the devices and they are clearly communicating, so I'm thinking that the problem is in how I'm going about trying to talk to the LCD. My code is below, is there any obvious flaw in my methodology?
Thank you!
edit: for reference here is the documentation for the Arduino I2C library http://arduino.cc/en/Reference/Wire
