How to give supply to a CF634 with a battery

Hello. I have a CrystalFont LCD 634 USB and i want to connect the display to a 2-port USB hub.

The problem appears when I connect the hub to the PC, because Windows XP yells "Not enough power for LCD 634".
I want to fix that problem connecting a battery to the LCD, but i have tried this with a 4,5 V battery and i have the same problem.

I want to know what kind of battery I would have to use, or an alternative solution for the problem. Thank you.

The display always reports to the Window's USB host that it requires the worst-case current of 500mA. So even if you connect a battery to the display, it still will not avoid the issue you are seeing.

You will pretty much need to go right to a motherboard USB port or get a powered hub. Just pick one of these that has a plug-in power adapter included:

I have found a solution buying a Trust 411E 4-Port USB Hub. The Hub supplies power to the LCD and other devices. Thanks for the answer.
