Ive built several LCDs over the years, starting with my LCD for my car mp3 player. I was wondering if there is a way to use resistors instead of pots for the contrast and backlight feature. Im not to woried about backlight , but I would really like contrast on like 3/4 of the way all the time, I think resistors in place of the pots would not only make it cheaper, but more durable , over the years I have had to rebuild my LCD several times as the pots get worn out , short, or the connectors break.
