"Gapless" graphs on 635

Hi,

I'm in the process - near the end of the process, actually, this is the last widget I'm writing for it - of writing a fairly complete menu system for the 635. On the product page, it tells me that it'll do gapless bar graphs in either vertical or horizontal direction, and the CGROM chart shows characters clearly intended for drawing them. I'm using characters 0xD0 to 0xD4, which are the "not quite full height" blocks. Character 0xD0 appears to fill the entire five-pixel width of the character's matrix, as drawn on the CGROM chart.

So why, when I draw several 0xD0 characters in a horizontal row, with five pixels visibly active for each one, do I get one-pixel gaps between them?
