Email not working

Well I have email working but not working. Log as shows:

It never updates the screen. I only have [E01] errors.

And I do have 11 emails... this stumps me.

Any ideas!??

I believe most email accounts anymore require encrypted connections (SSL). As a result, CC2 cannot connect without the proper "creditials".

In other words, you're probably SOL.:eek:

I gave up trying to use email screens a long time ago.:(

11 emails tho

Well I kinda read something about that in the forum.

BUT notice it returns that there are 11 emails after three timeouts. And there are 11 emails in the account at that time, so it does connect and read the number of emails.

Smartie likes it....

Just for kicks I loaded up LCD Smartie and gave it shot at email.

It works just fine. All the fields fill in no problem. No SSL requried or used.

I wonder what's the email issue with CC2?

Anyone guess?

I use WinMail on Vista 32 bit for normal email. I just filled the fields in and it works for the CC2 email plugin/screen. I used to use Outlook Express on XP and it worked on that too. Its handy for me, I see spam listed on the LCD module, open Mail Washer and delete it, then download whats left. Just a pity we can`t use the up/down buttons to move between messages, instead of seeing the lastest one ;) I changed this to latest :)

Im planning to release a new version of CC2 next week which will include a heap of plugin updates.
Ill try to fix these email plugin issues for that release.

OUTSTANDING!!!! what else can we say???? Huh?

I may have spoke too soon about CC2 not hanging up anymore. If I load up some DVD or CD and tax the system and graphics cards well, it hangs still. But if I don't it will run for days on end without a hitch.

I may try to move the cable around some more. I wonder if CC makes a shielded cable for inside the PC???

A quick update on this...

A new email plugin is being written (from scratch) at the moment that will also support SSL (so works with gmail, etc).

Nice one, be good to see this updated. I get on with video conferencing and flight simming, while the LCD module gives me advance notice that email is waiting. Be nice if it was possible to scroll between all the available messages instead of just seeing the last one. Then we get to see whats important and what can be downloaded after the plane lands ;)

Sorry for the delay releasing the new CC2 everyone...
This new email plugin will need to be quite a bit more complicated that i thought to properly handle gmail and other large pop3 accounts so its taking me some time to create :(

Well, now email has started working. Don't have a clue why it didn't before. Don't have a clue now why it does.

But hey, it works!
