From the log file with pop:

WARNING 20070715-213604-585.711172s check_mail#554: did not get welcome from "pop.gmail.com"

with spop:

WARNING 20070715-213839-11.666462s check_mail#506: could not get address for server "spop.gmail.com:995" (err: 11004)

I would say pop is correct. However, for some reason, CC2 can not get gmail to respond with pop.
JC, I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. The "spop" might be for COX users only, but I'm not sure about that. I didn't mean to suggest that you use "spop". :)

I only mentioned the instructions, which included the use of port 995, since you and I both cannot get anything through port 995 with CC2 (if I understood you correctly). Port 995 seems to be the SSL port for COX.

So, I think CCAdmin hit it on the head with the SSL issue. Part of the instructions from COX is to tick the "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" box for port 995.
