I wish to display text and perhaps simple graphics/animation on this LCD screen using an 8051. If anyone has done this, or knows where information can be attained, please email me or post a message.
Also, why doesn't Crystalfontz.com have manuals with information on how to display text on this lcd with the 8051? This microcontroller is by far the most popular and widely used. It is inexpensive and is a time-proven winner in the microcontroller market.
