CFAH2002A user assistance

Hi i just wired up a CFAH2002A, seems to be working. Powers up and top row is all lit up. Though I've tried a few programs/pluggins and they dont seem to work. The LCD just stays with its top row lit. Any ideas?

Top row lit just means its powered ok, and the contrast is ok.

Either youve soldered the rest of the wires wrong, or the printer port isnt setup right (should be set as EPP).
