I was thinking of getting this part. I was wondering if there is anything I should know about hooking it up (can I?) to a serial cable. What does it need to operate? Are there drivers?

A typical application for this display would have it connected to an expansion port of a single-board computer in an embedded aplication (like an ATM, for instance).

It cannot be connected to a PC's serial port without some kind of hardware device to read the serial information and convert it to transactions with the display's controller. Once that hardware is done, you would also have to write software to show whatever information you wanted on the LCD.

There cannot be a serial port driver, since the hardware is not defined.
