Hopefully I am answering my question, but I do need a current limiting resistor between +5V and pin 15, right? The imprinted resistor on the circuit board that connects to pin 15's path is not the current limiting Resistor, correct?

thanks

P.S.

do you know any good sites to program this graphics lcd with custom images? all the sites i have seen so far are geared to text.

thanks again

I meant the pin A not Pin 15

There is a 20 ohm resistor between "A" and "Vdd", so you only need to bring "VLED" to 0v to make the backlight function.
