Hi

I am using a USB 634 Display since years now, and i love it!

Usually i am using JaLCDs, but switched to the first Crystalcontroll software. When the second version arived, i was glad about the possibility to use bargraphs (specially with winamp).

Unfortunatelly i cannot use the Software, because the most things dont work.

CPU usage
RAM load
Bargraphs...

Nothings seems to work.

There was the hoipe that it will work with the new release, but still, no sucess...

It was mentoined earlier that german Windoes versions might not work proper with the Software...

Is there a workaround available? Or are german users using the software succesfully?

Please help...

Well actually, you can help us with this issue :)

The problem is that the perfmon names for your version of windows will be in german, and the screens you are trying to use (the ones that come with CC2) are in english.

If you would be willing to help us with this, please say so, and ill make up the list of english perfmon names we need german equivalents for.

Great, thanks!

The easiest way would be for you to run the "perfmon_enum" utility included with CC2 (its in the "CrystalControl2\extras\perfmon-enum" directory).
This will create a big list of the perfmon counters availiable on your PC.
You could then use that list to find the equivalents for the english versions.

Ok, here is the list of the counters we use the most:

Code:
\Process(_Total)\% User Time
\System\Processor Queue Length
\PhysicalDisk(_Total)\% Disk Time
\PhysicalDisk(_Total)\Current Disk Queue Length
\LogicalDisk(C:)\% Disk Time
\LogicalDisk(C:)\Free Megabytes
\LogicalDisk(C:)\% Free Space
Thanks again.

puuuhhh

its more difficult then expected...
i will post the results here (hope they are all right)! PLease note, that i need the aditionall text (for the in RED marked text in thjis posting), thats written as explanation behind the "names" in the english perfdump.txt file! I need this to make sure, that i got the right german equivalent...

\Process(_Total)\% User Time
"\Prozess(_Total#0)\Benutzerzeit (%)"

\System\Processor Queue Length
"\System\Prozessor-Warteschlangenlänge"

\PhysicalDisk(_Total)\% Disk Time
"\Physikalischer Datenträger(_Total#0)\Zeit (%)"

\PhysicalDisk(_Total)\Current DiskQueue Length
"\Physikalischer Datenträger(_Total#0)\Aktuelle Warteschlangenlänge"

\LogicalDisk(C:)\% Disk Time
Logischer Datenträger(C:#0)\Zeit (%)

\LogicalDisk(C:)\Free Megabytes
"\Logischer Datenträger(C:#0)\MB frei"

\LogicalDisk(C:)\% Free Space
"\Logischer Datenträger(C:#0)\Freier Speicherplatz (%)"

Ok, the extra info is:

\PhysicalDisk(_Total)\% Disk Time
% Disk Time is the percentage of elapsed time that the selected disk drive was busy servicing read or write requests.

And its the same explination for "\LogicalDisk(C:)\% Disk Time".

I think it might be:
\Physikalischer Datenträger(_Total#0)\Zeit (%)
and
\Logischer Datenträger(C:#0)\Zeit (%)

I edited the posting.
In my opinion those should be the wright equivqlents for the prenum expressions... hope this helps to make a working german version :)

Thanks!
Ill make german equivilents of the screens that use perfmon data and include them in the next release of CC2.

Samples

Hi all

another important indicator...

CPU-Usage:
\Prozessor(_Total)\Prozessorzeit (%)

If someone is interested ... I have attached three of my german screens. Free to use and free to adopt.

First of all:
4 Rows, 20 Columns Display and German Windows required

< ABOUT: nothing
no idea, its only text and Date/Time, nothing more

< HDD MONITOR: nothing (only OGB, no bargraphs)
maybe you have to delete the non-available drives ... I have designed the screen for the drives C, D, E and Z (4 Lines)

< SYSTEM-MONITOR: RAM - no bargraph, RAM and date korrekt
no idea

< WINAMP: doesnt switch to winamp
Winamp must be running and in play-mode (not stopped)

Just a hypothesis:
Is it possible, that we have different Bar-Components?
I have CC2 20060325 installed ...

Try to make your own screen (look into the good help inside this forum) and look if you are able to make a bar graph. If that works, then maybe you can take some elements from my screens to build your own working ones.

Sorry, regarding to CC2 I'm just a user.
