Hello,

I'm about to install a 634 USB 20x4 display on a industrial pc with an USB port. I tried my display first on my laptop to see the result with cc2. I was suprised about the result (Good!), so i decided to use it the same way on the industrial pc. The industrial pc with Windows xp Embedded sees the display in hardware-list. it starts up and then shows alot of "}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}" and sometimes another character. I matched the settings between my working laptop and de not working industrial pc.

Do you have any idea what it could be? It's currently running at 9600 Baud.

Thanks for your time.

Our USB interface uses an FTDI chip. According to their list of supported OS's, they don't have XP Embedded specifically.

We do have some certified drives available from Microsoft that may work for you:

Also, the base drivers from FTDI may work with XP embedded as well. These will not identify the module as a CFA634, only as a USB <-> serial device:

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you.

Many thanks for your reply. The first (certified driver) solution worked for me. I didn't try the other one. Note for other users: You'll need to replace both drivers, replace the com-port and usb-driver.
