634 USB Display

Am I missing something here - I just received my 634 USB with a male/male 9pin cable. The display has the USB interface with a small 4 pin connect and nothing else - how is this connected to the USB port. When running Crystalcontrol the backlight come on but no text is displayed

Sounds like there might have been an error in shipping and you did not receive your USB cable. It is suggested you give a call to CF for some assistance.
