634 Strange Charakters

Hello ive bought this 634 serial display and now i have got serious problems with it. I cant configure settings, when i add it it start to display strange charakters and does nos stop it. Can u help me ?

verify that baud rate as displayed on the startup screen of the lcd and as set on dip switches on the back of the lcd matches the baud rate in whatever program you so desire to control your lcd with.
