634 Power: Batteries?

I want to be able to take my LCD on the road all of the time. Apparantly it just needs 5v 600 ma power to run the backlight (it's a model 634 LCD). Could I use 3 or 4 AA batteries to accomplish this?

Also, could I use a 9v battery to run the actual LCD (not backlight) if required? (I don't know if my laptop can pump out enough power for it.)

I would like to have to plug in as few things as possible, preferably not carry around and have to replace batteries, and possibly run a power feed from a PS/2 or other port on my laptop to run the LCD instead of lugging around an extra AC Adapter.

Thanks,

Ben
