633 battery run

I called CrystalFontz today regarding my CFA-633 LCD and how I am trying to hook it up with batteries. I was unable to find a solution via the forums on this topic. Simply, what do I need to do? Just hooking up a voltage regulator isn’t working. Any tips?

If you gove the 633 5v from some other supply, does it work?

I would think you would need some capacitors like this:

It works!!!

I investigated further and found out that the LCD went bad. So, I got it replaced and the batteries worked with the new LCD just fine! Since several people suggested adding caps I attached two like you showed on the picture. Thanks for your help!
