631 mod, redo...

I've recently redone my 631 into an existing CD drive bay device that I was using for the Aerogate II. This uses the original case Hardcano 9 frame to house the display in a 5.25" bay, with a solid walnut insert, cut to fit, and formed to the frame's contours.

This is installed into the same Tt case I have been using, however, the original aluminum front inserts have also been replaced with solid walnut wood inserts, complete with dual front intake fan openings...

Man. We work so hard to cram a 20x2 into a 3.5" bay, and what do you do? Stick it in a 5.25". :) Buy them books, but all they do is eat the covers.

Seriously though, it looks very nice.

But... that's half the fun, putting things where they don't belong.

Technically, it's still mounted in a 3.5, more or less...

(Thanks for the compliment, btw)

Installed...

Here's a low quality shot of the display in operation, now that it's in it's new home. Still say it's technically in a 3.5" bay, since that's pretty much what the orginal frame became to mount it.:D
