recently i have discovered that if i send power to pin 2 on my 634 i can have the LCD on constantly...but i don't want to experiment with my $60 display so i ask the question here 
is it safe to have that +5v on pin 2 (Vdd) as well as having power sent through the serial port at the same time? i don't want to over power the screen
