I have wired up my parallel lcd according to http://www.icehw.net/article.asp?id=104 . When everything was done I pluged in the screen. After a min or so the screen started getting very hot. I have read in other posts that I need a resistor to make this function properly. Is this true? What kind of resistor would I need for this LCD? What would I need to do to get this lcd working correctly?
Also I tested out the software for a bit and the only thing that seems to show up on the lcd are the text lines that can be displayed in each line (found at the top of the configure screen). None of the other functions are coming up on the display correctly, just a bunch of garbage. Im pretty sure I have it wired right or the text wouldnt display correctly right? Thanks for the help!
